Above is the stuff I’m bringing with me to SPX. I have a new comic - it’s the short first part of my new story, Shadow Hills. I’m excited about this story and I wanted to have some piece of it to show for SPX, so I made this mini of the first chapter.

I’ll also have some new prints on this really nice 100# matte stock I got. It’s really pretty.

I’ll also have some copies of an interview zine I did with Michel Fiffe for Oily Comics. I just heard Mr. Fiffe will be right next door, at Oily Comics, so you should buy Copra from him directly instead of buying this zine, probably.

Also at Oily, there will be a new Friday Night Lights zine that Melissa put together. I can’t wait to see it - apparently there is a Riggins paper doll. I did a short comic for that zine, too.

Also, I’ll have the last copies of the Only Skin collection. If anyone wants one of those, they’re almost out of print - I have six left, I think.

Our Cool New Book of the week is Shigeru Sugiura’s Last of the Mohicans. The book represents the first full-length English translation of Sugiura’s work, who is typically known for his absurd, surrealistic, collage-like comics.

Last of the Mohicans is, in similar fashion, a free-wheeling, very loose adaptation of the traditional American story, marked by Sugiura’s characteristically absurd sensibility and penchant for pop culture references and appropriation. A weird and entertaining read.

I MAY have to pick this up. Looks like a pretty fun/weird read.
