So I arrived in Montreal on Sunday and started my Drawn and Quarterly internship on Tuesday. The internship has been good so far, I've been scanning a book by "Zach" that's apparently called The Greatest and is about gold prospecting in the Yukon. The artwork is beautiful, a mix of Sturm and Huzienga and maybe a little Frederick-Frost thrown in for good measure. I also had to look over the proofs for
James Sturm's America, which looks awesome. I also finally read
Exit Wounds and it's really great, as good a story as it is a beautiful book. I've also read my first novel in months, John Banville's
The Sea, and written half of Only Skin #2 and started coloring
Only Skin #1. So why I am I bored out of my mind? I miss Vermont, I guess, and those whacky cartoonists they have there.
Also, you can buy Sundays on
IKJK now.
